Last year I began my three year endeavour at university of South Wales in professional Art Psychotherapy Training.
As I slowly chip away my 'self', pieces loosen, some parts drift off while others stay longer and linger painfully. As I dissolve into the experience, I am changed by the relationships with the other trainee therapist; we share the journey of constant therapy as a part of the training. We join weekly and sensitively move around each other’s tender parts as a way of learning how to treat each other with compassion. Our other commonality is that we are willing to put ourselves through this difficult marathon journey in order to help and support other people in the future. I am blessed to know these people. As my hard exterior crumbles, I am exposed to some of the kindest people with whom I will share a profession within a few years to come.
